When Andy arrived at Variety Attractions in 2005, he was already a familiar face on the outdoor entertainment circuit.
In 1993, at the age of 17, he began performing as Sparky The Daredevil Clown in Charlie Belknap’s Hollywood Stunt Show – an occupation that introduced Andy to capacity crowds at state and county fairs, speedways, and stadiums across the United States, Canada, and The Caribbean. During his twelve years with the stunt show, he also gained celebrated success out of the spotlight and grease paint as the show’s promotions and publicity manager. In the winter off-season, Andy worked full time acquiring and developing many of the show’s important sponsor relations.
Now at Variety Attractions, Andy shares his 25+ years of knowledge in show business with clients spanning from Northern Maine to the Alabama Gulf Coast. Some of which have welcomed Andy onto their fairgrounds each summer for over two decades. Andy is at home when at a fairgrounds and understands the relationship and responsibility a fair has with agriculture, livestock, amusement companies, and concessionaires.
Whether a fair, festival, theatre or club: when any venue contacts Andy for a production, he always approaches the situation with the buyer’s best interest in mind.
Andy is a member of many of the industry’s leading organizations, including the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, and International Entertainment Buyers Association.
During rare breaks in the annual summertime schedule spent servicing concert dates, Andy will often reappear on the motorsport landscape. It is there that fans can hear him announce exciting thrill shows and championship demolition derbies.
In his spare time, Andy enjoys researching the history of the auto thrill show business and its preservation. His collection of vintage posters and memorabilia of shows gone by boasts hundreds of museum-worthy items and continues to grow.
