Fusing a transcendent vocal, down-to-Earth storytelling and a Heaven-sent desire to glorify Jesus, Anne Wilson has torn down walls many thought would never be moved. The Lexington, KY native is already one of Nashville’s most inspiring young trailblazers, mixing the heart of Contemporary Christian Music with the sound of Country. And there’s much more to come.
Called to her musical mission in the wake of tragedy, Wilson first felt God’s plan unfolding at her older brother’s funeral – where she delivered her first ever public performance. Just 15 at the time and lost in devastated grief, her captivating rendition of “What a Beautiful Name” was filmed and went viral, confirming a sense of purpose to bring faith where it was needed most, and do it through song.
Four years of hard work and struggle followed, culminating with the 2021 debut single, “My Jesus.” An empowering anthem of personal conviction wrapped in uplifting, roots-pop energy, the track became a GOLD-certified No.1 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart, making Wilson the first debut female solo artist in chart history to reach No.1. It went on to be named ASCAP’s 2022 Christian Music Awards Song of the Year, reaching Spotify’s Viral 50, the Shazam Top 200, and Rolling Stone’s Top 25 Trending charts.
Now boasting more than 435M global career streams, Wilson’s rise continues to gain momentum. She followed up with her 2022 album My Jesus – 15 tracks infused with Country style and faith which are now nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album at the 65th annual GRAMMY Awards. It marks a career-making achievement reached in near record time, and also makes her the only female artist in her GRAMMY category. Wilson has already won two GMA Dove Awards (New Artist of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for “My Jesus”) and two K-LOVE Fan Awards (Female Artist of the Year and Breakout Single for “My Jesus”), while also securing a coveted American Music Awards nomination (Favorite Inspirational Artist).
She made her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2021 – once again highlighting a unique blend of Christian and Country appeal – published a bestselling book titled My Jesus: From Heartache To Hope, and continues to thrill live audiences, performing 150 shows in 2022 while being named to both the RIAA Class of 2022 and Pandora’s Artists to Watch 2023: Christian/Gospel.
Now, after the release of her uplifting anthem, “Hey Girl,” and the creation of Hey Girl Nation – a community for fans to connect and encourage self-worth – Wilson is looking ahead to a new chapter. One that builds on her vision, and continues to blur the musical divide.
“My faith is not going anywhere in the new music,” she promises. “I do this for Jesus, not for any other reason. But I know that in order to reach the world, you have to step into a bigger market. It’s the heart of Christian Music, the sound of Country … and the hope of Jesus. I hope it all points back to Him.”
