Country Request Info

An East Tennessee native, Trent James grew up in a small community outside of Kingston, Tennessee, cultivating a lifelong passion for music. At the age of 8, his father gifted him his first guitar. Old Rock ‘n’ Roll-style music soon influenced Trent, with one of his favorites being Elvis Presley. Trent regularly performed at his parents’ local community grocery store.

Trent was drawn to country music and inspired by artists such as Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Ronnie Millsap, Conway Twitty, and Travis Tritt, among many others, influencing his style. Trent writes and sings his own music while paying tribute to the “Great Legends” of Country music. He believes that music tells a story, connecting people through experiences like breakups, heartaches, and falling in love. Trent wants his songs to have that kind of impact on people as they listen, presenting a genuine country artist passionate about his craft.

At the age of 16, Trent played drums with various gospel groups, touring all over the southeast region. Eventually, he decided to embark on his own career. As an independent artist, Trent states, “I want to add pieces of my own footprints to my music legacy. I believe country music will always be relevant because it connects with people and brings them together. I want my music to have that kind of impact.” Writing new songs and spending time in the studio are outlets for sharing his talent with everyone. Excited about his just-released new single titled “I Still Want You, Like You Want Me,” Trent wrote it for his wife. He expresses, “I believe when people hear this song, they will be able to relate to the lyrics.”
